GPS
The GPS address for most systems is Smith Road, Karamu.There are many Smith Roads in New Zealand. Do NOT put in 37 Smith Road, Hamilton because it will take you to the WRONG place. It's in the middle of Frankton in Hamilton, there are no horses there and the owner is getting grumpy.
Driving directions from Dinsdale in Hamilton
- Travel west along Whatawhata Road SH23
- Cross Whatawhata bridge
- Turn left onto Te Pahu Road. Drive 9.5km
- Turn right onto Smith Road
- Drive for 700 meters to the end of the tar seal
- Turn right at the trekking sign
- Follow the gravel road until you find the car park and toilet block (and horses).
Transport
There is no public transport or pick-up service. The nearest bus stop is about 10 kilometres away at Whatawhata. A taxi from Hamilton is at least NZ$100 each way.
