Safety first

Watch the safety brief before you arrive

Every trek starts with a full safety brief and basic riding instructions. You can watch it here beforehand, in your own time, handy if you'd like to translate it into your own language too.

Video coming soon. In the meantime, our guides run through everything with you before you mount up.

Get ready

What to bring and wear

A few simple things make your horse trek safer and more comfortable.

  • Closed, non-bulky shoes that fit the stirrups, no jandals, sandals, crocs or platforms
  • Comfortable clothes that aren't too tight, long pants are often comfier than shorts
  • Arrive 30 minutes early to sign in, fit a helmet and hear the safety brief
  • Leave drink bottles, large bags and bulky items in the car, you can only carry essentials
Experience levels

Which one are you?

The booking form asks about riding experience so we can look after you properly. Here's a quick guide.

  1. Never ridden

You've never been on a horse before.

  2. Beginner

You may have ridden once or twice, still very much learning, or prefer to walk only.

  3. Confident

Still learning but confident in your balance and keen to try a run or two (usually a trot, sometimes a canter).

  4. Intermediate

Confident controlling and steering your own horse without help, ridden many times, happy at a trot and canter.

  5. Experienced

You've owned a horse or ridden for years and can handle any horse at walk, trot and canter without difficulty.

The fine print
